i've been caught up with Common Test and so much so that i dont have time for this.
On its own, beauty is fleeting enough, and its only man’s natural reaction to want to try and extend this moment of pleasure obtained from appreciating beauty. a typical example will be having someone trying to preserve a bouquet of flowers by hanging upside down and leaving it to dryness. But when the lifespan of all that is beautiful is suddenly cut short, it makes the existence of beauty even more tragic, than it already is.
The five of them.
Besides the fact that the young lives were lost inexplicable through tragic events, the events that came after their deaths too pretty much followed a similar turn. That is, an extensive media coverage, a shared national experience, and people trying to resuscitate them through various means.
Thus the huge emotive outpouring on a national scale that followed the week, after it was reported on the news, that it took many a front page of local newspapers and countless headlines. Numerous days of coverage on the unexpected tragedy took singporeans by surprise, taking many who didn’t know them personally to be weepy and be on first name basis with them. yeah, strangers, for the first time you name them that.
Youtube videos of them, their personal details, interests surfaced everywhere. My friends personally saw a few of these posted on Facebook profiles of friends who didn’t know any of the five.
You can call this the affection of the fives' effect. The group affect condition, is one that is scientifically studied as human behaviour when groups of people get affected emotionally as one, and the feeling everyone else is experiencing reverberates through you.
In a world where the lines between personal and public spheres are unclear, and especially with the advent of the age of the internet and its world of blogging, facebooking, recalling this saying in mind, that the saying in today’s world, evidently nothing is private anymore. Say anything you wish, but I feel it’s important to note that some things shouldn’t change no matter what – that the grieving of one’s loved one should be a private thing.
that's all im gonna comment about this- let it die out. and it is, hopefully by now.
